The FMSB of the University of Yaounde I Opens Its Doors
As part of the Graduation Week organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (FMSB) of the University of Yaounde I, the institution held an Open Day on Monday, December 15. This occasion also marked the official launch of the “Graduation Museum Flash,” a tribute to the Masters, featuring archives, old instruments, photographs, and video testimonies showcasing the work carried out over the years.
The visit to the stands made it possible to discover, among other things, a wide range of food, therapeutic, and cosmetic products developed by students from the Department of Galenic Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Legislation. The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, for its part, educated visitors on oral and dental health. The Association of Women Doctors of Cameroon took advantage of the opportunity to present its activities to the general public. Finally, the FMSB Students’ Association also presented its activities by exhibiting basic medical textbooks used by students, as well as games aimed at improving intellectual capacity.
It should be noted that the FMSB Graduation Week began with a community service activity on Saturday, December 13, 2025, within the UYI campus.
This event aims not only to celebrate training in health professions but also to pay a vibrant tribute to the Masters. As a prelude, the FMSB of the University of Yaounde I, under the leadership of the Dean, Professor Esther Meka, organized a scientific meeting bringing together the academic elite, during which 329 candidates from various specialist programs defended their research Master’s degrees, university diplomas, and CESSI.
The FMSB Graduation Week will run until Friday, December 19, 2025. The remainder of the program will include a scientific conference, sports and income-generating activities, a Christmas festival, and the highly anticipated Graduation Ceremony scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Yaounde Conference Center.
