New Officials Officially Installed

The installation ceremony for the officials recently appointed by decree of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education (MINESUP), took place on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Amphitheatre 300 of the University of Yaounde I. The event was presided over by Prof. Jean Njoya, Vice-Rector in charge of Teaching, Professionalization, and the Development of Information and Communication Technologies (VREPTIC), representing the Rector, Prof. Remy Magloire Etoua. The ceremony was also attended by the Secretary-General of MINRESI, the Secretary-General of MINEDUB, and numerous senior university officials.

For reference, these officials were appointed on September 15. The solemnity of September 22 marked their official assumption of new functions as Vice-Deans, Department Heads, Deputy Directors, Division Heads, Deputy Chief Curator, Service Heads, Deputy Service Heads, and Wardens.

In his speech, Prof. Jean Njoya expressed his gratitude to those who, having been assigned other functions or retired, have contributed to the prominence of the University of Yaounde I. He urged the newly appointed officials to uphold rigor, commitment, and integrity. “Together, we have the responsibility to build a future where the University will be a true hub of knowledge and creativity,” he stated.

The Vice-Rector also encouraged the installed officials to promote inclusive, transparent, and participatory governance based on dialogue, consultation, and mutual respect. “The leadership you embody must be combined with teamwork and emotional intelligence to ensure the smooth running of the institution and the achievement of its objectives,” he added.
