“Take advantage of it to perfect your work”
This was the main recommendation given to participants by Prof. Christophe Désire Atangana Kouna, Vice-Dean in charge of Research and Cooperation, representing the Dean of FALSH, at the opening of the methodology seminar organized on March 28, 2025, by the Research Group in Discourse Analysis (GRAD) of the Department of Language Sciences.
The Vice-Dean also “congratulated the dynamism of this group, which has multiplied such initiatives in just a few years, enhancing the Faculty’s visibility and contributing to high-quality student training.”
For Prof. Alphonse Tonye, Director of GRAD and Head of the Department of Language Sciences, the objective was “to establish or strengthen standards of know-how and interpersonal skills in research within the Social Sciences in general, and Language Sciences in particular, to support young researchers in developing their work.”
The seminar featured high-level panels led or moderated by renowned professors such as Prof. Donald VESSAH NGOU, Venant ELOUNDOU ELOUNDOU, and Salome Chantal NTSAMA ESSENGUE, among others.
At the end, the 12 registered candidates presented their research projects before a jury moderated by Dr. Vivien NJOUNGUI EDOUNG. Constructive feedback and valuable advice were provided to help students refine their research.
The seminar concluded with the presentation of participation certificates.
