UY1 Hosts Covenant University from Nigeria

A delegation from the Nigerian institution, Covenant University, led by Prof. Olubanke Ogunlana, paid a visit to the main campus of the University of Yaounde I, headed by Prof. Remy Magloire ETOUA, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. The delegation was received in audience by Prof. Edmond BILOA, Vice-Rector in charge of Research, Cooperation, and Relations with the Business World.

On mission in Cameroon as part of a conference organized by the Pan African University, the two professors from Covenant University took the opportunity to visit several Cameroonian higher education institutions. At the University of Yaoundé I, the purpose of their visit was to report on the performance of Cameroonian students enrolled at Covenant University, particularly those who previously studied at the mother of all Cameroonian universities. Another key objective was to explore potential avenues for partnership between the two institutions, especially in the area of academic mobility.

Prof. Edmond BILOA emphasized that leadership is a central focus in the training offered to students at UY1. Following the audience with Prof. BILOA, the delegation visited the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Arts, Letters and Social Sciences, where they were received by the respective Deans.
