Finance Law 2026 UYI equips its officials
The University of Yaoundé I organized, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Concord International Hotel in Olézoa, a training seminar for the administrative and financial officials of its various structures. This meeting was part of the effort to ensure a better understanding of the 2026 Finance Law and its implementation procedures.
Initiated by the Rector, the session brought together heads of institutions, officials of financial divisions, heads of budget services, as well as several stakeholders involved in the administrative and financial management of the institution. The main objective was to strengthen the capacities of the participants so as to enable them to better understand the innovations introduced by the Finance Law and improve the management of public resources within the University.
During the seminar, several modules were presented by public finance experts. The discussions focused, among other topics, on budget management within public institutions, accounting practices in a computerized environment, public expenditure taxation, as well as the specificities of public procurement. Participants were also briefed on the accounting calendar and special procedures, not forgetting issues related to mismanagement.
The Rector of the University of Yaounde I, Prof. Remy Magloire Etoua, urged participants to make the most of the seminar and fully appropriate its lessons in order to “promote more rigorous financial governance in line with the requirements of the regulations in force.”
The interactive exchanges between speakers and participants helped clarify several practical concerns related to the implementation of the 2026 Finance Law.
