🚨 APPLICABLE REGULATIONS‼️
A MINESUP Delegation at the University of Yaounde I
The meeting room of the annex of the Rectorate of the University of Yaounde I hosted, on July 17, 2025, an awareness-raising mission from the Ministry of Higher Education on the implementation of applicable regulations within State Universities.
The discussions, led by a team from the Legal Affairs Division, aimed to assess the level of awareness of these regulations at the University of Yaounde I.
Exchanges with UYI officials focused on evaluating the enforcement of rules governing the rights of both lecturers and students, particularly in matters of discipline and litigation.
It emerged that at UYI, action plans have been implemented to raise awareness among the university community about academic privileges, notably through pedagogical seminars.
Among faculty members, the dissemination of regulations is facilitated via online discussion platforms. Finally, the Rector, Professor Remy Magloire Etoua, guarantees both the recognition of these academic freedoms and the implementation of measures to ensure they are upheld.
At the end of the working session, Mrs. Ngo Mbem, Head of the Litigation Unit at MINESUP, recommended that UYI “serve as a pillar to support other institutions in the implementation of academic privileges.”
