UY1 Launches Certificate Training Programs in Social Behavior Change

The official launch ceremony for the Certificate Training Programs in Social Behavior Change (SBC) was held this Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the 300 Amphitheater . The event was presided over by Professor Stephane Ngwanza, Vice-Rector in charge of Internal Control and Evaluation, representing the Rector of UY1, Professor Remy Magloire Etoua.
In addition to the welcome address by Professor Armand Leka Essomba, Head of the Department of Sociology and Coordinator of the SBC program, speeches from Professor Djouda Feudjio Yves Bertrand and Professor Desire Atangana Kouna also enriched the ceremony.
The first training session will begin on May 5. The trainers will include experts from UY1, UNICEF, and MINEPAT.
Mrs. Juliette Haenni, Deputy Representative of UNICEF, highlighted “the importance of SBC and the opportunities it offers to students.”
The Dean of FALSH, Professor Rodolphine Sylvie Wamba, expressed her wish for the initiative to be successful and encouraged the participating students to demonstrate commitment to this opportunity. “Live up to the expectations and the trust placed in you,” she added.
