🚨 PIISAH Workshop‼️
UYI at the Heart of Local Development Strategies
The opening ceremony of the workshop for drafting the Action Plan of the Integrated Agro-Pastoral Import Substitution Plan (PIISAH) took place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Biotechnology Center (CBT) of the University of Yaounde I in Nkolbisson. It was presided over by Professor Jean Njoya, Vice-Rector in charge of Research, Cooperation, and University Partnerships (VR-RPTIC), representing the Rector, Professor Remy Magloire Etoua. Several representatives from key ministries participated, including MINESUP, MINRESI, MINEPIA, MINFI, and MINEPAT.
In his welcome address, the Head of the Biotechnology Center, Professor Pierre Djockgoué, expressed his gratitude to the Rector for initiating the project and gave a comprehensive overview of its current status.
Professor Jean Njoya In his opening speech, highlighted the strategic importance of PIISAH in operationalizing the university-business partnership. He expressed the hope that discussions during the workshop would be rich and constructive, leading to a consensual document that truly reflects the shared ambition for Cameroon’s economic development.
The PIISAH aims to promote local production, stimulate scientific innovation, ensure sustainable resource management, and strengthen local capacities. During the opening ceremony, representatives of the various ministries presented the offers and opportunities provided by their respective institutions, as well as their role in implementing the project.
It should be noted that the workshop concludes on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
