2025 National Unity Day Spectacular Performance by UYI

Spectacular Performance by UYI
The University of Yaounde I made a remarkable impression during the parade marking the 53rd edition of National Unity Day, both on the 20th May Boulevard in Yaounde and at the ceremonial grounds in Mbalmayo. The Rector, Professor Remy Magloire Etoua, was present on the 20th May Boulevard, where the ceremony was presided over by the President of the Republic, H.E. Paul Biya.
UYI’s parade was particularly applauded, thanks to its vibrant marching band, majorettes dressed in outfits inspired by Cameroonian cultures, and a formation of students elegantly dressed in black suits, white shirts, and purple ties. The perfectly synchronized performance delivered a colorful display that drew loud applause from the Head of State and the entire honorary tribune.
This brilliant showcase crowned a week full of activities at the university, including health campaigns, a fitness walk, and handball tournaments organized as part of the National Unity celebration.
The festivities concluded with a special meal offered by the Rector at University Restaurant No. 2. On this occasion, Professor Etoua extended his “congratulations to the parade participants for their brilliant performance before the Head of State, and to all those who contributed to the success of the event.”
He also urged the university community to “remain united behind the ideals of President Paul Biya, so that UYI continues to stand as a pillar in building and strengthening national unity.”
